Comparable Industry Business Sale Data

We utilize multiple databases that provide transaction prices and other pertinent details for company valuations based on actual transactions in the private sector. Details include actual multiples paid on financial metrics such as sales, gross profit and adjusted cash flow-based earnings (EBIT and EBITDA).

Internal Financial Model

Our internally developed financial model utilizes a private company specific cost of capital approach to help determine earnings multiples and, thus, value ranges. In combination with comparable sales data, this model helps to assess the fair market value for a business.

Normalizing Adjustments

We work closely with you to analyze the financial statements, which are generally prepared for tax reporting purposes, not business valuation or business sale purposes. We adjust the “benefit stream” in order to more accurately represent the value of the business to a third-party buyer. These adjustments are necessary to present a fair and complete view of the business.
